Macular degeneration

As the retina is of key importance for excellent vision, the treatment of retinal problems from a trained specialist is an essential component of eye care. The retina lines the inside of the eye and is composed of thin layers of light-sensitive cells that send visual information to the brain. With conditions ranging from retinal detachment to diabetic retinopathy, Walton Eye Care provides comfortable and effective treatment.

Symptoms of retinal problems include floating black spots commonly referred to as “floaters” or sudden flashes of light often indicating substantial detachment of the vitreous or tears in the retina. Vitreoretinal problems can often be corrected with laser photocoagulation to seal small retinal tears with no surgical incision and freezing of the wall behind the tear with a local anesthesia to stimulate scar formation and surgical repair.

Dr. Baynham is an expert in the effective and careful treatment of all retinal diseases. If you have a retinal condition that requires attention, contact Walton Eye Care to discuss our range of treatment options.
