When patients begin to show signs of aging Dr. Baynham will be happy to provide a consultation.
Traditional Blepharoplasty (Eyelid Surgery)
Eyelid surgery, or “blepharoplasty”, is a procedure that restores an alert and rested appearance to the eyes by removing excess skin and fat from the upper and/or lower eyelids. The procedure is relatively simple and scarring is minimal. Many patients at our clinic choose eyelid surgery because of its effective, yet subtle, results. Patients look younger, more alert, and more cheerful, without looking as though they’ve had surgery.
Before scheduling eyelid surgery, Dr. Baynham will thoroughly review your medical and vision history, perform an eye exam, a tear production test, and ask you to explain, in detail, what changes you would like to see.
If you are unsatisfied with drooping or heavy appearing eyelids, Dr. Baynham’s blepharoplasty procedure will remove excess fatty tissue and making the eyes look more open and youthful.
Eyelid surgery is normally performed on an outpatient basis in the office and the entire procedure takes less than 45 minutes. Only local anestheisa is required. Walton Eye Care eyelid surgery patients should expect to spend a few days following surgery resting and limiting physical activities. Eyelid surgery is considered a safe procedure when performed by a qualified eyelid surgeon, but the recovery process must be closely monitored in case of any complications. Scars along incision lines may remain pink during the months following surgery – but, given time, they will typically fade and become virtually invisible.
